The Personal Health Approach to "Anxiety & Depression"
This program is designed to help individuals identify, understand, and control their anxiety and depression through "Exercise/Fitness TherapySM" Programs. Each one-hour session focuses on resistance training, cardiovascular training, anxiety and depression management skills, relaxation and stretching techniques, and the cause and effect relationship between anxiety, depression, and general wellness. Once the anxiety and depression triggers have been identified, we will work prevention techniques into your program.
Exercise has been shown to release endorphins and increase brain alpha wave emission, leading to a relaxed meditative state of mind. Researchers have demonstrated that exercise reduces anxiety and depression, increases feelings of well being, improves tolerance to everyday stress, and improves self-image of depressed people.
This program provides each participant with the education and tools necessary for lifelong skills to manage their anxiety and depression.
The Personal Health Approach to "High Blood Pressure"
High blood pressure (hypertension) afflicts an estimated 40 million Americans. A major problem with high blood pressure is that it has no symptoms which is why it is so important to have your blood pressure checked as often as possible.
If, however, you know you are predisposed to it through your family medical history, you have a huge advantage when it comes to preventing and/or managing it. The risk of developing primary hypertension is reduced by 33 to 55% with regular exercise. Therapeutic exercise has been shown to lower both systolic (5 to 25mmHg) and diastolic (3 to 15mmHg).
High blood pressure requires a constant effort to prevent and manage. This specialized Exercise/Fitness TherapySM Program will help individuals recognize, understand and control their blood pressure. Each hour session focuses on resistance training, cardiovascular conditioning, stress management skills, relaxation and stretching techniques, and nutritional consulting. These skills are necessary for the effective prevention, management and rehabilitation of high blood pressure.
The Personal Health Approach to "Strokes & Exercise"
Having a stroke does not mean a person will have to spend the rest of their life disabled. Common symptoms associated with a stroke are loss of balance when walking, loss of coordination & muscle strength, and involuntary contraction and relaxation of muscles.
An individual who has experienced a stroke must first go through the physical therapy phase of their rehabilitation. The next phase is where we enter into the picture. Our program is specifically designed to take each individual to the next level. By working closely with medical personnel, we can design and monitor an Exercise/Fitness TherapySM program that is specific to the individuals needs and abilities.
This program is designed specifically with the intent of improving balance and coordination by strengthening the muscles, tendons, and ligaments throughout the entire body. By achieving these specific goals the individual will see an increase in their level of function, as well as improvement in coordination, balance, and muscle control.
The Personal Health Approach to "High Cholesterol"
High cholesterol requires a constant effort to prevent, manage and rehabilitate. Those who participate in regular exercise have been found to have lower levels of total cholesterol, triglyceride, and VLDL. Exercise training studies have been shown to lower triglyceride levels and raise HDL. After consultations with the client and all relevant medical personnel, a program is designed for each client and their individual needs.
This specialized Exercise/Fitness TherapySM Program will help individuals recognize, understand and control their cholesterol. Each one hour session focuses on resistance training, cardiovascular conditioning, stress management skills, relaxation and stretching techniques, and nutritional consulting.
The most important facet of these programs is the education that each person receives in addition to the physical training. Our certified professional trainers will help an individual understand the nature of his/her problems, ways to deal with it and the confidence necessary to take control over their cholesterol problems rather than their cholesterol problems being in control of them. Our program will not only help individuals control their cholesterol, but it will also help them on a path of health and fitness that will enhance all aspects of their life.
The Personal Health Approach to "Pain Management "
Exercise/Fitness TherapySM Programs cannot eliminate pain, but they can be used to treat some of its symptoms. We will work closely with relevant medical personnel to implement our program, which is designed to manage and reduce the pain and limitations that are being placed on your body.
Our multifaceted facility allows us to treat "chronic pain" from every physical angle. Our certified professional personal trainers are your teammates and motivators in the management of your individual symptoms.

We have created a program that combines flexibility, resistance training, and cardiovascular exercise to treat and manage pain. Our cardiovascular fitness program will increase the flow of oxygen to your brain and throughout your body, reducing the frequency and intensity of headaches and also the aching in your muscles and joints.
A sound diet has also been found to be beneficial. Our nutritional program consists of a diet low in junk food and sugars, which have been found to bring on and/or intensify certain symptom of chronic pain.
The Personal Health Approach to "Diabetes"
Diabetes is a disease affecting the way the body uses food and is usually characterized by high blood sugar levels. Although insulin-dependent diabetes can not be prevented, non-insulin diabetes can be prevented through the use of exercise, proper dieting, and close medical supervision.
People with a family history of diabetes can prevent or lessen the chance of suffering from diabetes through proper exercise, diet, and medical care. Exercise can be used to help control and ease the discomfort of all types of diabetes. Evidence demonstrates that regular exercise can reduce the risk of developing non-insulin diabetes, and reduce insulin levels in those who have the disease.
After consultations with the client and all relevant medical personnel, an Exercise/Fitness TherapySM Program is designed for each client and their needs. All programs will include the basic principals of strength training, cardiovascular training, flexibility, endurance training and stretching techniques.
The most important facet of these programs is the education that each person receives in addition to the physical training. Our certified professional trainers will help an individual understand the nature of his/her problem, ways to deal with it, and the confidence necessary to take control over diabetes rather than diabetes being in control. Our program will not only help individuals control their diabetes, but it will also help put them on a path of health and fitness that will enhance all aspects of their life.
The Personal Health Approach to "Multiple Sclerosis"
Multiple Sclerosis is a disease that effects a persons nervous system. People who suffer from MS have symptoms that range from numbness, weakness, double vision, and weakness in the legs. From time to time every one has felt one or more of these symptoms. The best way to know for sure is to have a doctors diagnosis.
Many times a person with MS does not have a high level of activity because of the fatigue and weakness factor. If they dont keep moving, their muscles will be unable to do their job. This special program is designed to keep the clients muscles from atrophying from disuse. Exercise and flexibility programs cannot cure MS, but they can be used to treat some of its symptoms. We will work closely with relevant medical personnel to implement our program, which is designed to manage and prevent the pain and limitations that MS is placing on your body.
During this program, you will learn proper stretching, flexibility, strengthening and aerobic techniques. Each session will not only include light exercise but it will also provide detailed educational information so that you will be able to continue to reap the benefits of exercise and overall wellness programs for the rest of your life. The Personal Health Approach to "Bursitis"
The bursa is a fluid sac found in each joint. Bursitis is the inflammation of a bursa. The inflammation causes pressure and soreness in the joints.
We have designed a series of Exercise/Fitness TherapySM Programs to help you prevent bursitis and if necessary to rehabilitate it. Prevention and rehabilitation programs help you to regain a full range of motion and lessen the pain affiliated with tendinitis by strengthening your tendons and ligaments. Part of this is increasing the blood flow to these tissues that, by their own nature, usually carry very little. The blood flow is increased through weight-bearing movements, stretching exercises, cardiovascular exercise and more.
The Personal Health Approach to "Arthritis"
Arthritis is a disease, which requires a constant effort to control and rehabilitate. We have designed this Exercise/Fitness TherapySM Program to not only do this, but also to prevent symptoms and early onset.
If an individual knows that he/she is predisposed to arthritis through their family medical history, they do not have to wait for it to appear before taking action. By working closely with medical personnel, we can design and monitor an exercise program that is specific to the individuals needs and abilities. We will monitor and adjust the program as often as necessary to help prevent or keep the arthritis under control and keep the individual as pain free as possible. Having arthritis doesn't mean you have to live in constant pain or drastically alter your lifestyle.
This program is designed specifically with the intent of strengthening the muscles, tendons, and ligaments throughout the entire body. Once this is accomplished, joints will become stronger and more stable, therefore, less likely to cause pain. Keeping joints mobile and flexible will keep the proper amounts of fluids and blood flowing throughout the joints, carrying with it fresh, healthy nutrients while carrying away unwanted waste products. These areas will become much more capable of carrying out daily tasks without stressing and overloading the joints.
During the course of this program, the individual will be involved not only in exercise sessions, but also in learning a complete education on how to live a healthy, productive lifestyle. He/she will learn about nutrition, stretching, resistance training, aerobic conditioning, and any other related topics of interest.

The most important facet of these programs is the education that each person receives in addition to the physical training. Our certified professional trainers will help an individual understand the nature of his/her problems, ways to deal with it and the confidence necessary to take control over their back problems rather than their back problems being in control of them. This specialized program will also help them on a path of health and fitness that will enhance all aspects of their life.
The Personal Health Approach "Asthma"
Not everyone would associate asthma with exercise and conditioning in a positive way, but we do. By working closely with the client's medical personnel, we can design and monitor an Exercise/Fitness TherapySM program to help the client manage their asthma and expand their capabilities. We will monitor and adjust the program as often as necessary to help keep the client's asthma under control. Having asthma doesn't mean a person has to live an inactive lifestyle.
Each Exercise/Fitness TherapySM Program will be designed specifically to each individual's needs and capabilities. A continuous moderate-intensity warm-up can prevent exercise-induced asthma attacks. The weightlifting portion of the program is needed to strengthen the client's musculoskeletal system. We will assign the client cardiovascular exercises to increase their lung capacity. Once this is accomplished, the body individual will be better able to support their body more efficiently during activities that would normally leave them susceptible to bronchospasms.
The individual will be involved not only in exercise sessions, but will also learn about nutrition, strength training, stretching, resistance training, aerobic conditioning, and any other topics of interest.

In addition to the cardiovascular work, your program may also include some light strength training exercises, depending on your specific medical condition and restrictions. The Personal Health Approach "Tendinitis"
A tendon is a connective tissue. Connective tissue is the body's weakest link as muscle strength is limited by the ability of the tendon to handle the force generated by the muscle. Building muscle without conditioning the connective tissue leaves you open to injury, weakness and pain, which can eventually limit your range of motion.
We have designed a series of Exercise/Fitness TherapySM Programs to help prevent tendinitis and if necessary rehabilitate it.. Rehabilitation programs help you to regain a full range of motion and lessen the pain affiliated with tendinitis by strengthening your muscles, tendons and ligaments. Part of this is increasing the blood flow to these tissues that, by their own nature, usually carry very little. The blood flow is increased through weight-bearing movements, stretching exercises, cardiovascular exercise and more.

Level 2 - Until recently, health promotion for people with disabilities has been a neglected area of interest on the part of the general health community. Today, The Personal Health Approach is leading an effort to establish higher quality health care for the millions of Americans with disabilities. The focus of our health promotion program for people with disabilities is to reduce secondary conditions such as obesity, hypertension, inactivity and to maintain functional independence, to provide an opportunity for leisure and enjoyment, and to enhance the overall quality of life by reducing environmental barriers to good health. The Personal Health Approach has placed a major emphasis on community-based health promotion initiatives for people with disabilities in order to achieve these objectives. Regardless of what the disability is, a health, wellness and fitness program can greatly improve the quality of life and prevent diseases in disabled persons.
It doesn't matter what the disability is or the specifics that caused the disability, The Personal Health Approach will write, design and develop a health, wellness and fitness program to each individuals needs, capabilities and goals. We will create each specialized program form the "ground floor up" to meet each individuals specific needs and capabilities.
The Personal Health Approach to "Fibromyalgia"

The Personal Health Approach to "Bone, Muscle & Soft Tissue Injuries"
Our Bone, Muscle & Soft Tissue Exercise/Fitness TherapySM Program is designed to rehabilitate injuries, prevent new injuries from occurring, and strengthen and condition the entire body. This whole-body approach causes the client to become stronger and better equipped to handle any job. There are six major components that make this Exercise/Fitness TherapySM Program the most complete injury prevention & rehabilitation program available today.
Component One: A complete evaluation and consultation consisting of:
Component Two: Our first and over all emphasis concentrates on rehabilitating the injured area, by improving strength, flexibility, endurance, and muscle reaction time.
Component Three: Concentrates on the area surrounding the injury. At this phase we are looking to correct poor flexibility, strength, endurance and muscular imbalances that may have assisted in or caused the injury in the first place.
Component Four: Is a over all emphasis on injury prevention and sending the employee back to work in better physical condition than prior to his or her injury. To accomplish this we will design an over all strength and conditioning program for the entire body that will include a flexibility program, endurance, power, and cardiovascular conditioning.
Component Five: Poor nutrition promotes disease, over weight problems, poor strength, endurance, and energy levels, injuries, weak immune systems, and employee absenteeism. We ask the client to keep track of exactly what he or she eats for a 10 day period. After the senior trainers review the client's nutritional habits, we make the necessary corrections and educate them on the basics of healthy nutritional habits. Good nutritional habits fight disease, overweight problems and strengthen weak immune systems. Healthy eating habits also increase strength, endurance and energy levels which in turn promotes fast recovery times from injury and disease.
Component Six: The final facet of our Bone, Muscle & Soft Tissue Injury program is the education we offer to each individual. Once a client understands the problem and the course of action that will be taken to correct it, they can become an active participant in their own recovery. Only the client knows how they feel on a given day, what they do between appointments, and what they are doing at work. All of these things factor into their rehabilitation program and must be clearly communicated to the professional trainers. By educating our clients, the rehabilitation process fosters the team effort with both sides working efficiently toward the companys stated goals. It has been our experience that the more involved our clients are in their rehabilitation, the more motivated they become due to their sense of control over their situation. This leads them to feel better equipped to handle problems that arise in the future.
